Nut allergy, which airline handles it best?

We just flew on JetBlue and they were great when handling my daughter's allergy. They were so knowledgeable and handled telling the passengers so smoothly. I have no other airline to compare to with this situation(when found out about it after the flight before last). I'm curious to hear about other airlines and how they deal with nut allergies.

Hi, i have an anaphaliaxis to all nuts so i have to be careful, especially when flying. Although many airlines have stopped serving peanuts, some airline food can still have nuts in it. When i was younger i was on a plane to Florida that served peanuts, i began to cough and was moved free of charge to first class. However, you can by no means count on this. Always carry and epi pen and benadryl . Do not eat their food, get something in the airport that you know is safe. Last summer, i flew on El-Al airlines they had some trouble understanding the full issue of my allergy, but did not serve peanuts. However, i did not eat their food. If you do travel with them bring your own food. Sp far , AirTran and Delta have been good with my allergy.

We flew with Emmirates. They were brilliant. They knew abouth nut allergies and how to use the Epipen in an emergency. My six year old son is peanut allergic. We took out own food on the plane as no one can guarentee you that cross contamination hasn't occured. They will chill/ reheat food for you. I made ready meals and froze them in foil containers. Took stacks of cobs crisps and chocolate.

I would advise to you contact the airlines beforehand and see what provisions they have for you and what they advise you to do. You can't get an ambulance in the sky so best do plenty of research!

you must let an airline know before hand,

you might be better off getting your own food on a plane...u won't be missing much from a cattle class meal anyway unless ur travelling first or business
