When and how did the Canada settled french befriend the Huron Indians?

Explain manner in which the French settlers befriended the Huron Indians, Were Huron first to become friendly with them. I know the French did use a better technique from the beginning than the united states settlers by not ostrasizing their practices of sexuality etc. or saying their evil like the Puritans did. But did they offer them gifts. If so what sort?

^Birds of a feather flock together^. Knowing the basic law of the universe illiminates a lot of possibilities. They were drawn together in time, space, likes and dislikes, etc, in order to comply with this basic law, the law of attraction. Fear of the opposite did not exist in any meaningful way in this case. It did however exist in other places with other people and other tribes. We find exactly the same thing happening now in a major way in the middle east with the most fearful of individuals out there.

For Canada, I would suggest Montreal because of the French language. It's a beautiful city and it has a mix of French speaking and English speaking people (mostly near downtown Montreal). Cost of living (rent, etc.) is reasonable. Also, there's Concordia University and McGill University that are downtown if you wanted to take courses. I don't know exactly what your intentions are, but if speaking French is not so important then Toronto may be a better choice - in terms of finding work. There's definitely more work opportunities in Toronto compared to Montreal. However, I think your integration would probably be easier in Montreal; again, because of the French language. I don't know enough about the USA to recommend any cities to live there. Bon chance!

Where did this info come from? The Huron were a nasty bit of business, well organized socially, and militarily, and the few french that were here knew it. They wholly disapproved of them, they were pagans. But the commerical aspect and political weakness of the French traders made exchanges more practical. They traded fusils and powder, iron kettles, hatchets, knives. Also cloth, vermilion, glass beads from Venice, mirrors. These were not actually gifts in a modern sense, but inducement to trade.

They met and traded with the Hurons before ever establishing a settlement. When Canada was first discovered they just came to fish and trade then went home each time. Everyone was happy and benefited from the trading.
