2004 Honda Civic won't start in very cold weather?
The car is parked outside in Ohio where it's been single digits.
Yesterday it struggled to start, it cranks but wouldn't start for some time.
Then after being parked again for some time it wouldn't start at all. Even a jumpstart didn't help.
What could be the problem?

Water in fuel, bad fuel pump, mass air flow sensor, hot or cold temp. sensors, weak or no spark, clogged injectors....... It could be a lot of things but I guess I'd try to put some heet in it and get it indoors if you can to let it warm up a little.

you're thoroughly lacking the point. There are varieties of vtec. briefly, you may seem at it as 2 varieties: economy, skill. the human beings who do swaps are typically searching for skill; a sturdy platform to commence progression. Honda automobiles are typically mild, so that they don't pick huge torque numbers to get them transferring. that is extra about skill to weight and gearing. truly, if someone purpose develop into to easily construct a intense output motor, the vtec mechanism is definitely a shy away because it promises weight and complexity. do not anticipate to be utilising that monster round city although. although, to have vtec means you get the total end skill and the drivability of the decrease end. no longer only that yet in case you comprehend some thing about progression a automobile, once you've huge cam'd automobiles, they have an poor idle. Vtec enables you to run huge cams yet yet have a slow idle, hense the drivabilty section. This you canpersistent round city and nevertheless get respectable mileage. in case you seem at it from a race stand element, the in common words time you'd be on the point of the low end is on the launch. no matter when you're on the song or drag strip, you'll utilising the mid to intense end skill. that is smart to have skill in that section, does no longer it. i'm no longer announcing that is the perfect, even though it does have that is many reward. Many agencies lately are including of their personal version of variable timing. They see the benefit.

Wow. I'm shocked. Big Honda lovers here. Have a 2000 Civic, very well used....starts right up even in our 4 degree weather. Not so sure what the problem could be. Consult your local mechanic.

That year and the fact it's a Civic, I'm surprised. Have you had a tune-up at all to it? do you do regular oil changes? how about air/fuel filter? Start with that and don't let fuel get too low as you may have water in tank. My Honda starts with no problem at minus -20 C, I also use a block heater and synthetic oil in winter.

Just make sure you plug it in at night and when you first start it let it run for about 8 minutes and then start driving at a crawling pace before you get it going at like 40mph
