I guess no one here heard about the sludged engine issues on Toyota's, or the 500,000 trucks they just recalled, or the transmission problems on Camry's, or the airbags popping in scions, or priuses stalling on the side of the road, need I go on!! Toyota is the biggest scam, and we bought into it!!

A warranty is only as good as the company behind it. I had a GM truck that knocked like a diesel with only 30k miles. GM said this was normal and wouldn't harm the life span of the engine. This problem was well documented and GM kept building them the same way. Companies that don't learn from mistakes are doomed to fail.

Your right but let me add 2 points. (1) GM did it, as did Huyndai, to boost consumer confidence and (2) no matter how long the warranty, the customer pays for it since it is added in to the cost of the vehicle. So a reliable vehicle will have a lower warranty cost attached to it than an unreliable vehicle. The OEMs know exactly how much, on the average, they have to pay out in warranty costs

did you know that if you keep a GM vehicle for 5 years you will need that warranty more times then if you keep a Toyota for 15 years?

You´re right but in this case, the warranty it´s not the best thing in a car
The most important thing in Honda and Toyota is the quality
Toyota is the next world leader in car sales for this simple reason
Best Regards

They're doing this to gain customer confidence back, Chrysler did it after the nightmare they had with their disastrous trannies.

Difference is, GM needs it.
