My husband and I need to deep clean our house?

Much like the "clean sweep" type shows. Does anyone have any tips for what needs to be done, and how to go about doing it? I love that they put everything on the lawn, but we're in an apartment, so that's not happening. Also, it has to be done this week since he's on vacation right now.

START WITH PICKING UP TRASH AND THROWING THAT AWAY! CLEAR AN AREA SO THAT YOU HAVE ROOM TO SORT ITEMS LIKE ON THE SHOWS. DIRTY LAUNDRY-CLEAN. OLD CLOTHES NO LONGER WEARING-TRASH OR DONATE. CLEAN BED LINENS-CLEAN CLOSET-CLEAR AND CLEAN TOPS OF FURNITURE SORTING ITEMS AS YOU GO. TAKE TRASH OUT OFTEN TO KEEP ROOM FOR YOU TO MOVE AROUND! MAKE YOUR BED, DO THE DISHES, FINISH THE LAUNDRY AND VACUUM AND WASH FLOORS. WASH COUNTER TOPS IN THE KITCHEN. THEN MOVE ON TO CURTAINS, WINDOWS AND STOVE WHEN ALL OF THE REST IS DONE. WHEN YOU HAVE THE REST OF THE HOUSE IN GOOD SHAPE YOU START WORKING ON CLEANING UNDER THE SINKS AND YOUR DRESSER DRAWERS. TAKE IT ALL IN STAGES AND REMEMBER TO KEEP AN AREA CLEAN TO MOVE AROUND OR YOU WILL FEEL OVERWHELMED!

well to start with get some trash bags big and small if you have them or you can use your laundry baskets...go to a bedroom and start with your closets first. go from ceiling to floor. make a give away basket or bag and a trash basket or bag. once you are done reorganizing your closet clean it vacuum the cobwebs and the floors, wash the inside and outside of the door and make sure to do the wood molding...most times all you have to do is vacuum the molding. Then do the same with your bedrooms. Clean out your dresser drawers first then the nightstands. Clean the ceiling fans and light fixtures and any and all other furniture. change your sheets and wash your bedspread. Vacuum making sure to get the wood molding around the floor and the window sills. If you need more advise email me. I can give you some quick tips on the bathroom and kitchen areas that will cut your time in half. newbanjo1@verizon.net

De-cluttering is a good idea. When you've done that, clean one room at a time. Empty the room, put washables in the machine, hire a steam cleaner if you don't already have one and start cleaning the room. You can use it on carpets, tiles walls, upholstery, matresses, vinyl floors, even curtains. When you've finished one room, move everything back in and empty the next. Good Luck

I am in the cleaning business and here is one of our secrets!

We buy this cleaning cloth off the internet. You have to buy in packages of 5 but they are only like $3 bucks a piece. I have ordered them and use them on everything, especially cleaning windows and clean mirrors. They are made out of tiny fibers. They are guaranteed not to scratch and all you do is rinse the cloth under water, wring it out and wipe ANY surface with no streaks or scratch. Use em over and over. I have not thrown one away yet!

I am sold on this ...I encourage you to try it out….hope this helps…Steve

Sort your old stuff and put it in trash bags. I do this twice year to get rid of stuff we haven't used. The trick for me it to get rid of the bags as soon as possible. I usually have a bag for trash, a bag for garage sale or donate and a bag to pass of to a friend with kids younger or small than mine.

have a garage or lawn sell and then after your done deep cleaning buy new stuff

do it now why hes gone. throw away a bunch of his stuff. or at least rent a storage shed for a while then gradually go thru the stuff and throw away stuff you really dont need or sell it on ebay whatever dont sell give to charities or salvation army etc.

  • If you haven't used it in a year, toss it. After the house is "emptied" of clutter and crap, clean it.
