Create a picnic (make sandwiches) and get some cider, get champagne glasses, and take her to a picnic, possibly dancing..somewhere romantic, waterfront view...

the goal is to let her feel like she can be herself with you, bring out the kid in her...she;ll remember it always

Cook a simple but delicious dinner, eat by candlelight (or not if you don't have some), have soft music in the back ground and write on a piece of paper something special that you want to share with her or something special about her. Things you do for her are FAR more memorable than the quick shot, eat out.

I was totally in your shoes last Valentines day.

Make a coupon book with different things you can do for her. You may be low on money now, but by the time she wants to use a coupon, you may have some more dough.

    Example:

    Coupon for a "movie"

    Coupon for "dinner"

Coupon for "an activity" (bowling, skating, putt putt, one of her hobbies)

This way, you don't have to spend a bunch of money at once, you can do it all different times.

Dont be empty handed on V-day though, give her something else too.....something you can afford.

in stead of taking her out to eat why don't you cook for her. its a lot cheaper and the environment is a lot more intimate, that also makes you look a lot more creative. i know i am really broke right now too cuz i have no job, so my friends and i are making all our gifts and supplies are a lot cheaper than the actual gift. so good luck!
