why does the WWE claim that Sabu is from India?

well to start is back groud is indian and also cause "sabu" form bucksnort Tennessee"real town by the way" would not make since its all gimmick i wrestle myslef i use a ninja gimmick i am announced form the orient or the far east depending on promotion i am not from japan or china or any other part of the orient its all about gimicks

the WWE and ECW have never claimed that Sabu is from india. if anything the would have claimed he was from iran. Sabu's character started in the original ECW as a sign of respect and admiration for the man who trained Sabu, the late great Iron Sheik. the Iron Sheik, was supposedly from Iran and after his time in the WWE he opened a training center. his most prolific, highest profile, and most popular student was Sabu. all that being said i have never once in all my years of watching the WWE and ECW have i evefr heard them say he is from india, ever. The only Wrester i know of who they say is from india is Khali (real name Dhalip) although they say he is from the punjabi jungles of india. davari is supposedly from india but he doesnt wrestle any more. also Sabu is actually from san bernadino california originally. in fact Sabu's name is Anthony T Steinmann.

He is from Detroit Mi but is sounds better for gimmicks purpose that they say he is from India. I have heard them announce him from Detroit sometimes.

It's storyline. Sabu is supposed to be an Indian guy. Itdon't look rite if they say he is from Detroit

Because that is where his character is from. Many times, "characters" are purported to be from places other than the actual person, like Kane, who used to be from "Parts Unknown", or the Dudleys, who were from Dudleyville when they were in the WWE.
