In windows xp you open up the folder (in my computer or windows explorer) that contains the file you want to open, right click, choose open with, and then ´choose program´ on the screen that opens up choose the program that you want to open this type of file with and then at the bottom of the screen click on always use the selected program to open this kind of file.

I´m not sure with other windows, been a while, i can´t remember.

    Hope this helps :)

Locate the file in windows explorer, Right click on the file, select OPEN WITH, select CHOOSE PROGRAM, check the "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file" box then select the program from the list (or browse for the one you want to use) , Click OK

if you want a picture for a specific program, right click the picture, click open with, and choose program. in the program list, click the program you want to use to open it, and then check the box that says always use this something something.

u can do the same for video files too, and music.
