traffic ticket in south carolina?
I have to go to South carolina from Georgia to pick my kids up from their dads every weekend. Im a big believer in making my kids buckle up. I have a 6 year old son who hates to wear his seat belt he gets out every chance he gets. Some times he will get out when im driveing and i will have to pull over and get on to him and put him back in his car seat. Well, one night i was late picking them up so i went into town to get them something to eat. It was dark and my 6year old got out of his seat and i didnt know it. A cop saw him and pulled me over. My other two kids me and my mom was buckled up. He gave me a ticket for a hundred and 50 dollors and it says i have to appear in court. I never had any thing but a few speeding tickets when i was younger. What are they going to do to me? Im scaired, i never been in trouble before.

Appeal it. Talk to the prosecutor and explain the situation. Cry (if it's a man, appeal to a woman's frustration at the antics of a child if it's a woman). You can probably plead down to a lesser ticket. Don't be scared, it's just some small town hick cop attempting to be relevant.

Just pay it. $150 is a lot of money. Its not the cops fault that your child was not buckled. Giving parents tickets for not having their child buckled teaches the parent responsibility and saves the child.
Pay the ticket and punish your child. he is 6 yrs old he should know better. My son is 4 and he knows that he cannot unbuckle till the car is turned off and till i tell him it is OK. Its better to punish him then having something worse happen if you get into a accident.
I think this is a serious issue because I cannot go any where till my kids are buckled in. When I pick my son up from school I always so the children in the back seat jumping all over the car and hanging out the window. its a shame.
Tell your son that you have to pay a lot of money for a ticket that the police man gave you because he was not buckled. Explain to him that money could've been used for something else that your family needed. If it is a really big issue with him make a game out of being buckled. Tell him that he he stays buckled every time you get into the car that you will take him to the dollar store and he can pick out any toy he wants. i used to do that with my son to get him to pick up his toys. Now he picks them up when i tell him to. he even cleans up after his little sister. bribes work wonders.

They aren't going to do anything more than fine you. You can pay the fine and then you don't have to appear in court. It's called bail forfeiture. The real hurt is going to come when your insurance rates go up. Call the court to see if you can go to traffic school. Also, if it's not too inconvenient, you should go to court. There is a decent chance the cop won't show up (charges dropped), and if your other passengers will come and testify to the circumstances you are describing, the judge might reduce or even waive the fine.

Appear in court and contest the ticket/ Also ask to have your othere two children testify, and your mom. They might quibble about the kids, as they are underage, but your mom is certainly a good witness as to who was buckled up. Good luck to you
