How far does Religion go?
Being an Atheist, I get so irritated with Christianity, as it's constantly trying to explain away logic and reason. It calls all the other gods 'devils' basically masquerading as false gods and apparently Belial is the the one which makes people Atheist. On reading 'Paradise Lost' I was furious at the audacity of Christians in this respect, until I realised the extent of their cunning, or 'metis' hehe. You see, my atheistic tendancies are suddenly explained as delusions which I have succumbed to, fed by Belial and my subsequent anger is again a product of Belial! Lol Even my rationality of realisation can be explained as the work of the devil, and so I have no defences left! Of course, this all rings of the same undercurant of recruitment: i.e Our religion is the best, you join us. They've just applied their intelligence more connivingly. But please, don't listen to me, for OBVIOUSLY it is only Belial speaking.

This is where i have the biggest problem with religion. They will try to use science and reason to justify their beliefs up until the point where you show them that these tools actually refute their beliefs... at this point they will do one of 3 things. 1 Justification: they will backpedal to make their statements fit within the confines of reality which you have just provided them with. 2 denial: they will at that point claim that god or whatever it is is beyond science and logic (which makes me think "why even try to use them in the first place then?"). 3 brute force: This is the same as denial except they add actions to attempt to force their beliefs on others contrary to what the reality of the situation is.
There is nothing good about religion that cannot be achieved in some secular way. There is a lot of evil however that is inherent in religion. We need to grow past our bronze age brethren and forge ahead for a tolerant peaceful and knowledgeable society.

Religion can ultimately lead to a complete annihilation of all life on earth, because still for many of them it's "god or death", and even some are awaiting the "apocalypse" or whatever they call it. Give them a suitcase with launching codes for nuclear arms, and things might escalate. I also get very annoyed by the slick merchandisers of christianity. They seem to have developed frighting strategies that just ridicules science, that a lot of people are very sensitive to. Things like "who was there first, god or science" are not really things i'd fall for, but for many it seems to be convincing enough.
But I wanted to respond to Small but Fierce also. She is right in one respect that science can't disprove god. Science needs ratio and measurable values to come to a conclusion, and god has not yet given any of that of himself, so the scientific standpoint is "no research possible in this area". But it's for the existence of religious people in the first place, who made up a god-concept to explain their "consciousness" and the rest of everything they didn't understand (life, weather, fire, mountains, volcano's, etc), that claim the existence of a god, that the proof of non-/existence of god had come on the shoulders of ratio (science), which is just not fair. This god concept is just way beyond the scope of science, at least, until now in time, and if there's no god, it will always be that way. The only "scientists " looking for things that there's no sign of existing, are creationists.

What's your problem? If you are an atheist, then you're an atheist.
I have a sneaking suspicion you might really be an agnostic.
An atheist is convinced that there is no God. As such you would be able to tell people that religion is a load of bull!
If you can't do this then I suspect you're not sure. Do you believe in the 'Big Bang' theory or do you still have some un-answered questions?
The ball's in your court.

Religions goes very far, all the way to hell,in fact. Many people follow man-made religions . Faith in Christ and repentance has absolutely NOTHING to do with religion.

Jesus told us that in His Father's house there are many rooms. There is room for all. Religion is the road map to heaven. You can take many roads to get there. They all lead to or away from God. The choice is yours.

I honestly could NOT agree with you more, they're always making up silly explanations for things, can they explain why pictures of Jesus portray him as being white? When he was born in Isreal? How can they be so condescending when their theology teaches against pride?
