Is everybody pregnant?

First my Platties, all the fry were dinner... now I have some "stuff" on the side of my fluval in-tank filter (half way up) that looks like fish scales but all the fish are there and none appear to be missing scales... are these eggs? I have danios (3), angels (2), large 1 1/2" tetras (5), platties (3), dwarf Gouramis (2) and a yellow sucker cat (4" long)... whose eggs could they be? The angels are nipping at them...

Update:

Did a Google... I have a "golden algae eater" but not for long as he's aggressive I find out... lol... trade-in time for the community wrecker! Thanks for great answers and I can email pics of the "eggs" if you send me a link.

danios and tetras are egg-scatterers so it won't be them, platys are livebearers, not them. gouramis are bubblenesters, so not them, my bet that if it IS eggs, it would be the angels.

unless you've got rogue snails in the tank?

the yellow sucker cat, could he be a golden Chinese Algae Eater by any chance? if so you're going to have trouble with him. I prefer their name Chinese Face Huggers, they have a taste for eyeballs and slime coats.

see the pics below of angels with eggs.

It's the angelfish and they are trying to clean the eggs to prevent fungus. If this is the first clutch of eggs they'll probably eat them after a while, but don't worry, they will spawn again, and if your water conditions are good, probably sooner than later. Live or frozen foods will help condition your fish for breeding. Sit back and watch the show.-----PeeTee

    I'm not pregnant! LOL

My guess would also be the angels. Odds are very good that they were not viable fertilized eggs and that is why they ate them, but soetimes that happens with angels no matter what, Especially on the first spawn or two.

The fish are not all pregnant. The live bearers stay impregnated for several months and will develop a new batch of babies shortly after giving birth. What is stuck to the filter is most probably the rotting remains of the newly born, not eaten fry.
