Dude, what's up with the review? The movie does not come out until next Friday (the 23rd as a matter of fact) so how do you know that the first half is funny!?! Light up another one!

Anyhoo, huge Carrey fan, I'll be there opening night for sure. I love all his movies but it would be nice to see him breakout from the "funnyman" typecast that he has in Hollywood! We need more open minds like yourself to turn it around for him! BTW you want to see another side of Jim? Rent "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind." It's starts off slow but hang with it and thank me later!

Jim Carrey is brilliant in everything he works in, whether it's comedy films(for which he is most famous for) like "Liar Liar", "Bruce Almighty", "Ace Ventura" etc, etc.. or more serious, dramatic roles like "Man on the moon". "The Majestic" or of course one my favorite films "The Truman show", he makes sure that during the entire film your butt is glued to the screen and your eyes are glued to the seat(or is it the other way around??).

the film is about A man whose life unravels after he comes into contact with an obscure book titled The Number 23. As he reads the book, he becomes increasingly convinced that it is based on his own life.

Funny at times (especially the first half) and dark ,mysterious during the remainder of the film, it's a winner on all counts, and i guess we have one man to thank for it the most and that is of course the director "Joel Schumacher".

One of Joel's previous efforts was simply Horrindous and i don't think i have to tell you what that film was called but just in case some of you haven't seen it, It was Batman & Robin(1997, but he redeemed himself shortly after that with the likes of "8MM","PhoneBooth" etc and now with this film i think it's safe to say that he is well and truly on top of his game.

Watching Jim do his thing is as always a pleasure to watch and in this movie he does no wrong. The rest of the cast is pretty good if not great as well.

This is a movie that won't disappoint you MAKE SURE you watch it when it's on big screen.

Interestingly, the concept of the film is rooted (imo) in the belief that many hold, which states that the number 23 is a "celestial number". And that it appears particularly often in the lives of those people that are predestined to significantly influence the world around them. So, there're folks out there who see it all the time, and then think it's a message.

The film takes that mentality and runs with it.

I'm curious to see Carey in a thriller type flick.
