My bonsai tree is dieing?
I was given a bonsai tree this christmas, I thought I was looking after it quite well (except at one point where it looked a bit dodgy, but i figured out it wasn't getting enough sunlight and moved it.) I am a student and I don't really have the right aparatus to submerge it in water, but i do water it every 2 days. Recently its leaves are changing colour and falling off, is this a symptom of the cold weather, or a sign that it's about to die? What can be done to save my tree?

I think your watering it too much. They have a device you can buy at Home Depot or Lowes or any other home improvement store that can detect the amount of water in the soil and let you know when to water. I have had Bonsai's before and we didn't water but about 3 or 4 times a month. It could be also that you need to transplant it. It could be root bound and strangling it's self to death. It would greatly help to learn about the plant and it's watering and transplanting needs through a nursery who sells the Bonsai.

The previous tree grow to be impressive till it died tale. For the previous 15 years I listen that tale a minimum of one hundred situations when we set up our bonsai exhibit on the Dallas Arboretum. Bonsai means tree in small pot, and maximum timber, gained't make it contained in the domicile. the in trouble-free terms time I brings vegetation in is for a get mutually to exhibit them off. The tropicals are saved in a solar room over the iciness basically to keep them from dropping decrease than 40 ranges. It fairly feels like you've a juniper that has taken gasoline. Run your fingers throughout plant and if falls aside, toss it. keep the pot for some thing else. inspect some bonsai internet web pages for help. keep in suggestions, those wimpy junipers you spot for 39.ninety 5 would properly be offered for 6.00 as a one gallon blue mound juniper from any domicile center. Get some approaches and initiate styling away. Now bypass drink a lager and loosen up.

Hundreds of species of trees are used for bonsai, and we can only diagnose a problem if we know the species. Can you send me a photo?

Some trees or for indoor and some for outdoor. You can't grow outdoor trees inside, but we won't know that until I see your photo. If you don't have a way to send a photo, describe the foliage (size and shape).

It is sad to see the instructions given with some bonsai, but have heart, we'll figure out what's wrong.

Definately over watering. Istead of soaking the roots spray with a mist sprayer and let the moisture rain down on it like its outside.
The roots must not get water logged.

I think you put it in a window for the sunshine and it got cold and that's why it's dropping it leaves. You shouldn't have to water it every two day. Wrap it up well and bring it to a garden shop maybe they can help you.
