Is the wax in "cheap" shampoos and conditioners really so bad for your hair?
I mostly use cheap shampoos and conditioners like Pantene, Dove, and most recently Sunsilk. Stylists always tell me how those brands are so awful because of the wax. One time, a stylist even showed me the wax on my hair, but I felt like she was just tricking me to get me to buy expensive Biolage, etc. (used that stuff before too) So can people tell me, is it really SOOO bad to use the cheap brands? What does the wax do?

I was told by a stylist that your hair gets a nice shine from cheaper conditioners (like Suave). She said that if you really want super clean hair to get the salon stuff, but if you want shine use the cheaper stuff.
If you still want conditioning, get a leave-in conditioner The stuff in the red spray bottle from Alberto V05 works pretty good and smells good too, all without damaging your hair.
Lately I've only been using Garnier Sleek & Shine shampoo and no conditioner. I'm not really seeing much of a difference, but my hair is a little softer.

ok the version between drug save and genuine shampoo is the dimensions of the shampoo and conditioner molecule length. you will desire to think of of your hair as a street with pot holes and familiar you may desire to fill interior the pot hollow. The drug save manufacturers would be like filling the holes with basketballs or perhaps baseballs. With a genuine salon variety you would be filling the holes with marbles or golfing balls. some people's hair you may desire to place something in there hair and it will pop out looking great. and people prefer a undeniable shampoo and conditioner to make there hair seem great. even with salon shampoo it could make your hair seem flat or oily yet that is why you circulate to a salon your stylest will inform you what you prefer and if identity would not paintings they supply you some thing else that would desire to paintings.

Yes it is bad because it can damage your hair and then you'll need the more expensive brand. plus its not good when you put heat on it either with all that wax. You could have enough wax on your head to make a crayon its bad.

Sometimes we dont want to use cheap shampoons but are forced to because we have strict budgets. I say use what suits your pocket, somehow, it will work for you unless you have a serious problem that needs expert attention (or products).

i used to use cheap shampoo, but my hair looked frizzy and lifeless. then i started using l'oreal and wella which u can buy only at hair dresser, well, i can't say my hair looked way much better, but then i decided to go back to cheap shampoo (the same wella and l'oreal but from the average store) - well, to compare with more expensive shampoo my hair looked way worse. so now i am back to expensive shampoo. i can't say it makes wonders to my hair, but it is way better than cheap one

They aren't bad, the stylists sell their own and want you to buy it. Don't waste your money, all that stuff is basically the same.
