Anyone know of a program that will send a message to?

another computer on the same network that's free (of course). A program that's instant, with a pop-up note. I used to have one called something notes I think?

Update:

Found it or one.

I didn't know about Winpopup though. Thanks for that answer.

I don't have time to teach everyone how to go to the "Run - Dos prompt" so that won't work at all. I needed a gui.

Any lan messenger can help you, there are lot of such kind of applications online.

I just recommend tools with support of Windows 7,8. Old winpopup doesn't work anymore, only alternatives.

You can send messages to any computer which is connected to your local network using the command "Net send"

The syntax of this command is "net send computername your_message"

To send messgae using this command, open a command promt window and type the command.

You can open command prompt by "Start Menu -> Run". You will get a Run command window now. Type "cmd" and press enter. Now command prompt window will open.

If you get any doubt about "Net send" command, just type "Net send /?". Windows will give you the syntax of the command.

    Enjoy yourself with Net send.

    Have a nice messaging...!
