If I were an atheist, which I am not, I would take the anti-venom if a doctor said to. But if someone was just spouting what he believed and had never even seen a medical school, I would ask for another opinion.

You are never going to convince someone with verbal threats and intimidation.

"A man convinced against his will, is of the same opinion still".

Antivenoms are purified by several processes but will still contain other serum proteins that can act as antigens. Some individuals may react to the antivenom with an immediate hypersensitivity reaction (anaphylaxis) or a delayed hypersensitivity (serum sickness) reaction and antivenom should, therefore, be used with caution.

I would yell to the Dr's the following, "I don't give a crap where the blood comes from, as long as it can save my life!"

Don't you remember the controversial topic of a kidney transplant for a little girl, and a convicted murderer. Do you really think that I would care, as long as my daughter could live!

Of course I wouldn't refuse the anti-venom. I'd have evidence of the snake's existence (the puncture wounds from the bite).

Care to provide any reliable evidence of your deity?

JESUS CHRIST!! I HAVE CAPS LOCK ON, SO WHATEVER I'M SAYING MUST BE TRUE!!

"The BLOOD of Jesus IS the only anti-venom that can save you from eternal death and judgment...."

Yawn. Says you and all your fundie friends.

    <snip, more religious rhetoric>

"PLEASE DON'T WAIT UNTIL IT'S TOO LATE TO BELIEVE THE TRUTH THT COULD HAVE SAVED YOU FOR ETERNITY!!!!"

    First, stop screaming at me.

    Second, everything you're saying?

    PROVE IT.

Well, considering that it is a proven fact that antivenin can save me, I'd say absolutely save me. If someone says that they want to heal my open wound using the ancient egyptian medical practice of putting cat feces on it, I'd refuse it..

There is no historical evidence that Jesus ever existed,.. no docments ever written by him, no birth record, no death record.. no contemporary historians that ever even give him a passing glance.. nothing.. the oldest documents found that even speak ABOUT him are 300 years after his alleged death. Yet, you want me to believe? Give me proof that it works, like antivenin, and we'll talk.

Oh, just stuff it! I couldn't care less about Jesus and all that BLOOD nonsense. I'm a very proud and happy Jew and I would never, ever become a Christian because I simply don't believe what you are saying. Why should I? Who are you? How old are you? How much of life have you really lived yet? Stop telling people how to live their lives...that's just arrogant and pushy.

Faulty analogy. Hey, by the way, how do you know about anti-venom, scientists figured that stuff out.

Good presentation... However, you are offering the cure (Jesus Christ) for a disease (sin) that most don't even know that they have. One must be completely aware of the disease and the consequences of that disease before they will openly accept a cure. If you walk up to a random person and tell them, "take this. It'll cure you." They will reply, "Cure me of what?"
