Bush a megalomaniac with a Messiah complex?

What do you think of this theory:

George Bush is trying to - country by country - turn the whole region of the Middle East into a democracy with Western ideals. He sees this as his legacy. He started with Afghanistan, then moved onto Iraq, now he's working on Iran. He wants to be historically considered as a messianic saviour that totally changed the politico-construct of the world.

Do you think he is this sort of megalomaniac? Opinions?

Update:

Tearsof the moon-

I think you're right about oil being the motive for Cheney, Rove and the rest, but Bush... I think he's more of an idealogue who's being used by Cheney and may or may not realise it. (that's not a good thing)

Update 2:

True Grit - I agree that democracy is a good thing and all... but all he's doing is destabilising the region - with dire consequences.

Update 3:

True Patriot - Yeah, no kidding. That's how completely deluded Bush is.

Bush is a weak man who is being manipulated by evil men.

I am a tree-hugging, etc liberal, and I feel deeply sorry for him, because I do believe that he is a good person at heart.

He is just completely out of his league.

I hope his plan (the surge) works in Iraq, so he can at least save some face.

LOL what 80% of Iraq wants us OUT of there? They hate us!!! His legacy isn't going to be turning the middle east into pro-westerners. He's getting more and more of them to HATE us. And it's no wonder..ever saw the picture of the woman, an Iraqi mother, holding her baby whose face has been bloodied by American warfare and she has this look on her face of petrified anxiousness? Well, trust me, after that she started to hate America and probably didn't before. Same with the kids where we blew up their parents. You don't start wars to be "liked".

Neither. He is just a man doing what he thinks is best for his country. Why is that so hard to understand?
