Nothing offensive - can say I never say it before so what I can't see , I don't answer.

As for you initial question about the CIA , I read the complete article and even the foreign governments can't agree of what happened or events.

There is a lot of conjecture about classifed docutments and at the very bottom of the article...it states the one man may never get to present his defense as the document his defense needs must remain sealed.

So without a clearer picture and more information - I could not in all honesty answer your question without appear quick tempered , prejudiced or narrow minded.

Guess that is why some people still beleive in a trial -- to get past all the hype and drama the media puts out to grab viewers and get that all mighty dollar.

The CIA has been mandated all forms of intelligence gathering except for "signal intelligence" which was given to the NSA (this is by executive order during the Reagan administration).

The CIA sometimes acts as a military agency, and as such, our agents are sometimes captured and held as if they were enemy combatants. Italy is one of our allies, but they have every right to protect their own interests by holding our guys. It's part of the job.

Renaming them "KGB" would be an insult--the CIA is far more skilled and effective and we don't poison people.

Well, Cheri B, maybe they figured that it was a waste of time answering a question when you don't know the difference between "it's" and "its"

    a) "it's" is a contraction for "it is". It is not a possessive form.

    b) "its" is the possessive form.

Now, regarding your question, the KGB was supporting a government that could only survive on the promulgation of lies. Once the people say the truth about the Communist system, they refused to be its slaves anymore.

The CIA works tirelessly to keep you safe from insane Islama-fascist terrorists, so give them a break.
