Those who were alive & are old enough to remember, where were you & how did you feel when JFK was assasinated?
I was in 8th grade & it was announced over our school PA system. We all said a prayer for the president & his family & then we were sent home. We were pretty much in a state of disbelief & shock & stayed in front of the TV sets.

I was in 7th grade, at lunch break. The secretaries in the office heard the news over the radio, and word spread through the halls. We didn't hear official word and had to go to our first afternoon class. It was math, but no one felt like finding out about real numbers. The teacher let us speculate--a Catholic girl burst into tears, saying it was an anti-Catholic people who did it, and started blaming the Jews and Protestants. Teacher stepped in and started making lame jokes--more likely to be Johnson or Goldwater-both from the southwest. Sounds terrible now, but it broke the tension. Then, finally, the announcement came over the intercom, and we were sent home. Since it was a private school, there were no busses--I chose to walk, in the pouring rain, to where my mother worked, about a mile away. Didn't button my coat or put on a hat--I didn't care. The whole world was crying, and I was too.

i turned right into a intense college senior, so i became 17. i became in study hall at the same time as it became presented that he were shot. Then later it became said that he had died. I bear in thoughts shocked and crying scholars. i actually did not sense a lot except for a experience of disbelieve that someone would assassinate the president. i became unhappy that individuals were killed. My moms and dads? i do not bear in thoughts a lot, i comprehend that they did not like JFK, yet i'm positive that they were no longer satisfied that he were shot.

I was in high school and my girlfriend came up to me between classes as I was going to my locker and told me...I couldn't believe it. I wasn't a Kennedy fan (I was already doing volunteer work for Goldwater), but I do not believe in elections by bullets and would never had wished his assassination on anyone. I do remember saying: "Oh my God, that means we have Johnson as President...we are totally screwed!" (and for the most part, history proved me right on that point).

I was at my desk working in Halifax when someone stuck their head in the office and told us. Later somepeople tried to blame L.H.Oswald, but I knew it was "Clanz" on the grassy knoll with the candlestick.

this was a very sad day as I was at work at the Court House when we got the news. Needless to say everyone was sad as this was no way to protest anyone. all any of us thought was the hurt and what would happen now.
