Do you need some sort of license or permit to operate a home-based Event Planning business?

I've searched all over the internet for the information, but I haven't found out anything about this particular type of business. I don't believe that I need one, but does anyone know anything from personal experience?

ps- I live in Michigan. I know that makes a difference also!
