Two good reason why the Yankees would never win another world series until they fired Joe Torre?

I just think the Yankees make a big mistake by letting Joe torre to continue being the manager. I think the Yankees should it fired him last yea after losing to the Detroit tiger, come on get serious the Yankees have the heights payroll in MLB and the closets they have to winning a world series was in 2001 against Arizona. Is been 6 year since they won it all in 2000. I just think the player don’t listen to Joe Torre anymore is time for him to get out of New York. How many more years are the Yankees are going to accept losing in the division series playoffs with joe torre, because i think the yankees would not make it to the world series this year neither.

Joe Torre has helped the Yankees win 4 world series and they have finished first in the league for i'm pretty sure 10 years. I think hes a pretty good manager. Its not completly the managers fault for the lack of world series wins. Its the general manager and also the players are probably the main cause.

It's not Joe Torres' fault. Brian Cashman is responsible for player personnel and frankly he's done a pretty lousy job with the pitching staff these past years. Joe Torre is only the manager not the general manager. If he had any say in picking the players I'm sure he would not have picked up people like Kevin Brown or Randy Johnson. That's Cashman's baggage. It wasn't Torre's choice to sign Jaret Wright either. What a major bust he was! Don't blame Torre for these moves. Joe is a HOF manager and should have been elected as a player years ago.

Hey man,I think you need to learn how to write first and then learn a little more about baseball.I have been following the Yankees also for the last 48 years and Joe Torre is not the sole reason for their "terrible success"-LOL. Man,have you watched any of these games?? A thing called running into a team that is playing better than you will ALWAYS knock you down off your high horse(ask the Colorado Rockies).Torre has been a manager that has done his best with the product his owner gives him(usually great stud players). If you run into buzzsaws like the Cleveland Indians,Detroit Tigers, Chicago White Sox,Boston Red Sox in the playoffs for the last four years--guess what?-YOU'RE GOING TO LOSE!!"Give the poor guy a break,I bet he's sure glad to GTF out of that circus!-A-Rod also!

A Red Sox fan defending Torre... Who'da thunk it?

I wouldn't blame Torre for the problems in the past several years. Good pitching beats good hitting, and the Yankees rotation has been getting progressively older. They have quite the offensive arsenal, but there was inconsistent pitching.

Torre manages to keep some sense of order in the chaotic world of the New York media spotlight. His players talk about how much respect they have for him. When was the last time you heard anything beyond the 24 hour temper-tantrum from a player against Torre?

As a Red Sox fan, I'd be thrilled if they dump Torre. As a baseball fan, I wouldn't.

Joe is good, but I think that with him as manager the players just think they will automatically dominate. I think that the issue could be cured if Steinbrenner would sell the team to an owner that would get a SEEMINGLY less powerful manager like the very talented Joe Girardi (a former Yankee under Torre himself).

Alright first thing, losing to Arizona wasnt his fault. He put in possibly the greatest relief pitcher of all time and Rivera blew it. Second, have you ever thought that the reason the Yankees havent won the World Series since 2000 is that they havent had a good pitching staff since 2003. Who's fault is that? Steinbreiner and his dumbass son in law GM.

Funny thing. Joe Torre never throws a pitch, fields a ball, or get up to bat. He is NOT the reason the Yankees are not winning.Rather it is because they continue to live on past glory, and that just does not win championships.

    Chow!!

I don't think that firing Torre is going to help the Yankees. Managers can't swing a bat or throw a pitch. It is up to the team to win. Torre can only guide them, then it is up to the team to win.

Joe Torre is a leader that has proven himself as the best 9 times in row in the AL East and four times in MLB. A better question would be when are they going to fire Bobby Cox ??

are you serious? You can't lay all the blame on Torre for the overpaid Yankees not winning. He did not even want all those guys on the roster.

There are to many players to big for their britches on that squad and they just happen to be in the biggest and most seen market in sports.

Torre has faults but you can't seriously lay all the blame for the last few years on him.
