You can obtain a satellite PCI card and connect your satellite feed to it. I use a WinTV Nesux-S model 717 from Hauppauge.
If you are wanting to watch DishNetwork or BellExpressvu you will need to do some "adjusting". Go here: http://www.dishnewbies.com/ and select the forums. You will need to register with the forums. Then proceed to the DVB area where there are instructions on how to enable the PC card to receive transmissions.
You can record just like a PVR. Much better picture than if you connected a stand-alone satellite receiver via S-Video or composite cable to a TV-tuner card. It can be a bit finicky at times, but otherwise it's great.

You can watch satellite tv on your pc if your graphics card has an s-video input. Just connect the s-video out from your satellite receiver to the s-video input on your computer. If your computer doesn't have an s-video input then you would have to get another graphics card. There is an alternative and that is using software to get the satellite feeds directly to the computer. There is a link below that has this info.
