    I definitely recommend Frontline Plus.

Advantage only kills adult fleas. It works very well for that explicit purpose, but if you want tick control as well, Frontline is the way to go. Frontline also kills flea eggs.

Revolution is another great product if it is available to you. It prevents feline heartworm disease (which is fatal and there is currently no approved treatment for it), roundworms, and ear mites as well as fleas. It is not labeled for the prevention of ticks, but a Pfizer representative I have spoken with told me that it is still effective for ticks and that the company guarantees it for ticks (meaning that if you find ticks on your cat while it is on Revolution, you can call Pfizer and they will give you your money back).

  • Frontline is great for cats that aren't Persian. Persian cats should not ever be put on Frontline. It will cause them seizures and kill. If you are talking about wintertime flea control, it's very economical. Frontline will work on your animal for three months, if you are just treating for fleas. During the summer, when also fighting off ticks, it is necessary to use it monthly as directed.

Advantage is also very good as a product. This product is something to use monthly, no matter the time of year. It has no restrictions for breeds of cats to be used on either.

I volunteered at a pet store for quite some time and have found that both products are very good. Whe it comes to the killing of eggs, larvae and adult fleas-they are both awesome. The amount of time it takes to kill these are from 8-12 hours. However, when it comes to which breed and what you are treating for is the true kicker. Hope this helps and good luck.

Advantage is only good for killing adult fleas.

Frontline is only effective on Fleas, ticks and chewing lice.

Frontline Plus is superior as it kills fleas, ticks, eggs, larvae, and chewing lice. These medications are over the counter so you won't need a prescription from your vet in order to obtain them

    BUYERS CHOICE.

As a cat owner myself I prefer Frontline plus since my cats are free to roam inside or out at their leisure.

I think either is fine. Whatever you do though, make sure you get the stuff that is for cats. If you accidently put on the stuff for dogs, it can send your cat into seizures and it could die. Just be careful if you have both in the house!

we use advantage on both our cats, once a month on the back of the neck. Easy to apply and never seen a flea.
