Does anyone feed Eukanuba Dog Food to their dog?

How is the dog doing on it? Would you recommend it to others?

My Female Rhodesian Ridgeback is apparently very sensitive to fillers in dog food. She was on Nutro Lamb and Rice and developed an allergy to it. So I put her on the Chicken one and it bothered her too. I was told Nutro has a lot of "fillers" in it So I have also tried Dick Van Patten's Duck and Potato with no fillers, and it helped a little, but she is having problems. So I am trying Eukanuba now and that is why I want opinions. Any and all are appreciated. Thanx! :)

hmmmm. well I thought Eukanuba had no fillers. I am pretty sure thats what it says that in the ingredients list and on the bag. Maybe in the old days it did, but I saw they recently changed everything to compete with all the other brands. They now have the lamb and rice formulas, breed specific ones, and small, medium and large breed formulas. You can actually go to the site and see each and every ingredient and get a detailed description of it. I says right there on the package: No Unnecessary Extras: No fillers, artificial preservatives, artificial flavors or colors added. Eukanuba was invented in 1969 by the Iams company, and already popular dog food which was invented in 1946 by Animal nutritionist Paul Iams in a small feed mill near Dayton, Ohio. Royal Canin is newer and was invented in 1968 by a French Vet. And according to the research and the videos on the breed specifics on the website, it is formulated just like Eukanuba\Iams. I've also I find this very interesting.

Update 4:

I am not trying to shoot down a particular brand of dog food...I was on the Royal Canin website and read some of the forums and saw that a lot of dogs have been having upset stomachs and vomiting on it. One reason is I read that corn is one of the main ingredients and a common allergy to dogs and it also does not digest well. And they end up having to be on medications for getting sick al their life. Why not just switch foods? I would think with all their "innovative research" they could pick a better main ingredient.

    I do not currently feed it to any of my dogs, but it is a good choice for many dogs. However, you need to be really careful with a dog that has special dietary needs. Most of the commercially packaged foods probably aren't suitable. Some of the prescription foods may work, but for the most part they, too, have fillers. Canned foods or home-made foods would probably be your best bet. Check the ingredients before picking a food.

    I had a dog that would get vomiting, diarrhea, and itching from almost every brand of food. Science Diet, Iams, and Eukanuba were the worse of them all. I switched her to the Natural Balance Duck formula and it helped a little, and then I tried the Natural Balance Venison formula and it helped more but it still did not have her back to normal. The best brand that I found that helped her the most was NutriSource Adult Chicken and Rice formula. It is kind of hard to get but in about 6 weeks she was completely back to normal and vary rarely had any problems.

    No I don't and I never will. It's not the best food out there, and it's overpriced. I dont care how many dogs shows they sponcer.

    I feed NUTRO to all my dogs and they are strong and very healthy and their coats are beautiful.

    Eukanuba and Iams are both very poor foods, and are tested on animals in horrific ways, Id avoid it like mad.

    Heck no I wouldn't recommend Puke-anuba. Waaaay overpriced junk. Look at the ingredients of their medium breed food. It contains fillers (beet pulp), by products, too many grains (corn meal, sorghum, and brewers rice, which is the less nutritious part of the rice), and brewers yeast (a common allergen).

    For around the same price (or cheaper!) get Chicken Soup, Canidae, Innova, Natural Balance, Blue Buffalo, etc.

    I work as a veterinary assistant and we do a lot of training on types of food. If your dog is allergic to many kinds of food you can try the Purina Limited Antigen or the Hills prescription diet that is allergen free they are both a little expensive so I hope your dog doesnt have to be on forever. Hopefully this helps

    I started to feed it to her a while ago but my dog got sick from it but now I use "ONE" and she is not sick. Maybe for some dogs its different and my dog is allergic to it but im staying away from it. They advertise too much and that is generally not good. Well im only one opinion out of so many hope you find the right dog food.

    there a dog food company called DAD's it is the best. it really is there so proud there food the welcome public to vist any time to inspect there place now let me ask you this. if you was a manufactor of anything would you let the public in to look any time the wanted if you did not make the best???? i did not think so dad's dog food is the best dog food and it aint very expensive either

    got a golden a collie and jack russell and eukanuba upsets thier stomachs esp the goldie cos he has a very sensitive stomach any i go to the local supermarket and buy the cheap and cheerful own brand buy expensive and the goldies stomach goes haywire so no i wouldnt recommend to anyone else
