I'm 5 feet, 6 and a half inches tall with Dirty Blonde Hair and Blue Eyes (and no sweetie, those aren't contacts). I also own 2 fully trained (by me) Rhodesian Ridgebacks. I have a lot of experience with difficult and dominant breeds as mine can be. I'm in my mid-twenties, and I am a self-employed professional Pet Groomer. I have been in the industry as of July 03'. If anyone needs to know anything about Dogs, or any small animals, including exotics, I am the one to ask! I have also gotten 10 "best answers chosen" in a day, so as you can see I am a great resource and reference on here! :)

  • Did your dog have problems associted with the pet food recall?

The latest problems discovered were liver and kidney problems.I think my dog had other problems due to foods that got recalled.I did take all my canned food back to the store and exchanged it for new cans.I have switched from the Nutro to Eukanuba Sensitive Skin and my dog has almost cleared up completely.I had tried several different formulas of the dry Nutro Natural Choice with her only getting a tablespoon of wet mixed in the food very rarely. My dog was still having the skin problems associated with a itchy red spotty and blistery rash on her belly that kept relapsing despite all shampoos, special foods, and medications she was on.The vet ruled out causes being fleas, mange and seasonal allergies.I spent over $300 dollars at the vet on her,and am very thankful she is now healing thanks to my own research on pet foods.I wanted to know if there was a way to get money back\sue somebody over all of this?I heard of the rat poison in it too, which is why I am alarmed. What do you think?

  • Does anyone else know\ own Rhodesian Ridgeback(s)?

I have a Year and a Half Pet Quality Female Red livernose. She could be shown except she has a kink in her tail which she was born with. I also have a Show\Pet Quality 6 Month Old Black Masked Male. He may be able to be shown, but we just have to see how he develops. He still has a lot of growing to do!

  • Female and Male Rhodesian Ridgeback with Skin Allergy-Is there a Vet. in the House?

My Rhodesian Ridgeback had these little scabby bumps all along her underside and all over her body right before the holidays in 06'.We took het to our vet and they put her on a couple of meds, gave her a special shampoo& a leave in cond.,and put her on Purina vet diet called HA(HypoAllerginic)they all helped, and after it cleared up,as instructed,I stopped everything. After a few days, the spots on her underside came back. She currently eats\ate NutroLg.Breed which has chicken as the only protein. She was eating Lamb&Rice, but she had developed(what I thought)was the allergy to the Lamb after being on it almost a year.I thought it was a bad bag of food, since I offered it to my other RR puppy as a treat, and then he got the same rash on his back.So I started her back on the leftover meds and they seem to help. She doesn't eat the HA food very good,so I mix them, seeing the Nutro food w\chicken seems to help. The vet said the only way to figure out the allergy is bloowork, which is $$$... Help!

  • I have really dry and broken hair. Any thing recommended to put in while/after showering that really works?

Everything else I've tried seems to make my hair appear like it has gel in it, makes it greasy or it wears off in a few hours. I tried protein sprays, (which take days to wash it all out) that frizz ease stuff, citri shine frizz reduction sprays and gels, the kiddie stuff for tangles to try and prevent me from ripping my hair out, that new breakage defense system leave in conditioner by pantene-pro v, wehich works but the next day its back to its old dry and frizzy self. I also have been trying to brush my hair less often to try and prevent breakage...but I don't have much of a choice when I am getting ready to go out. I also just got it cut to my sholders so I could try and start over. It was so long (down to the middle of my back) and nothing seeems to work...help!

  • Any one have any good African names for a Male Rhodesian Ridgeback Puppy?

I have searched endlessly and came up with a lot, but they sound too feminine or they are more than 3 syllables long, which is hard\too long for calling a puppy.
