What was your experience with Headhunters (online Headhunters)?

I don't know this site, but a legitimate will not ask for an upfront fee. Whether the fee is for a month or year, once you pay the fee, what guarantee do you have that they will send you on any interviews, or even be there tomorrow?

At worst, a legitimate headhunter may ask you to pay the placement fee if they can find you a job where the company isn't willing to pay. But the companies that use headhunters almost always pay the fee.

Stick to the basics like careerbuilder or monster.

Learn the jargon that will get you hired. Sadly enough, although you'll spend a lifetime on your resume, you'll be lucky if a headhunter spends more than 30 seconds glancing through it.

Unfortunately, it's a hurdle you have to overcome. If you're desirable and have the jargon which makes the fit, the headhunters will find you.

Jargon is very important because it's the same type of search engine used in the bar above to look for question that will be used to look for your potential job. I'm not sure what field you're in but the exact letters count, i.e. if they punch in IT, they won't find internet technology or that sort, so make sure to have IT or whatever jargon is necessary.

With the right jargon, any headhunter will find you and dress you up right for the next potential step.

As for a place like resumespider, that uses e-mail blasts which will have you apply for any which job medical doctors for dishwashers, accountants for sailors, you get the picture. You don't need your good name spread around poorly. Those firms claim to place you in the right 50 places; they put you in 50 places, you don't want to be.
