what percentage of people in USA have been in jail at one time or another?
I meet people from all walks of life in my job and I would say 1/2 of them have been arrested at one time or another in their lifetime. Maybe Im meeting the criminal element more because of the people I choose to talk to but I was just wondering what percentage of the US citizens have been arrested or been in jail at one time or another?

Well, I went through a number of my Criminal Justice books and I couldn't find a number of arrests for you. Sorry, I have all the incarceration stats, but not arrests.
