Any suggestions about neuropathy? I've tried acouple of Rx's with limited success.?

There are a lot of reasons to have neuropathy. The etiology affects how well it can be treated. Diabetic neuropathy is much easier to treat when the glucose is under better control for example. On the other hand CDIP (chronic demyelinating inflammatory polyneuropathy) is exceedingly difficult to treat by any means.

A clear diagnosis needs to be made and the the underlying disease (if any) has to be controlled as well as possible. Once all of that is done, THEN you can more effectively address the neuropathy itself.

I would say that I answer questions from my contacts as quickly as possible, depending upon the question. Often, by the time I get to them, a best answer has already been chosen. Like you, my dear, I have a limited amount of time I can spend here daily. For questions of fact, I usually don't answer if someone has already answered correctly. I haven't had any luck either. as far as I know there is nothing to do but be careful. if it is your feet wear shoes when walking look them over every night keep them well hydrated and don't let ANY sore go untreated. as for the pain. well keep trying some times all you need is Ibuprofen or some of the over the counter but none of the higher end pain killers haven't worked for me but keep trying. also try acupuncture, chiropractics and massage. you could find some combination that might work

The sad thing is the medical profession has had very little success with treating neuropathy. The best you can do is treat the physical symptoms and keep checking with your doctor for any advancements.

I have neurropathy in my legs and my dr said to get a massage once a month... whole body massage...... Plus do exericses too. It's helping me alot! Good Luck!
