What is the best way to remove paint from around our doors?

Use a heat gun and scraper.....You can rent them at any equipment rental. As my customers call it a "glorified hair dryer," You can also buy them for about $50.00 depending where you go...If you have a lot to do I would buy one....All you have do to point it, watch it bubble up and scrape it off. Don't try to sand it off because all you are going to do is gum up the sand paper, and if you use a belt sander the belts can get expensive....And No, you will not have to take off the door.....

Paint strippers can get messy.........

I always wondered why landlords just let them slop a thick new layer of paint on between each tenant!

You will have to remove the doors, remove all the hardware and strip them with paint stripper or sand them. Because they are flat surfaces, I highly recommend a sander. You can rent one and buy the sand paper shapes that go on them. Then you'll need to repaint the doors.

You will probably also have to pull off the old door frames and replace them. It would be easier than refinishing.

you could always use stripper to try and remove the paint..and the time it would take would depend on how many layers of paint there is......also, you will probably have to repaint these areas when you are done....I don't believe you would have to take the doors off to use this method....

than another option is ...take a sander to the paint...this would be a fast way of taking the extra paint off....but again you probably will have to paint it again when you are done...and you might have to take the doors off to get the sander into the area .......

Those are the only two options I can think of right off...both these methods will work -our house was old when we bought it....trust me...you name it we have had to do it to this house.....it has been a learning experience to say the least....

one more thing, if you go with the paint stripper...be sure to have a lot of ventilation going..the fumes is pretty rough to take......

Consider sanding the edge of the door, perhaps the top. If you get the clearance you need, the repaint project will be very easy. You ought to be able to do that without removing the door.

Gotta take down the doors sorry and then use a scraper and scrape it off. Its gonna take all day by the time you repaint and rehang the doors gotta wait till paint completly drys before closing doors again

sand it, then repaint it.
