Its an old wives tale about the heart rate being able to tell you the sex. The baby could have been really active or really lazy when they did it.

My son had a HB range of 140-166 and to be honest, I first thought he was a 'she'.....mother's intuition told me otherwise, at 15 weeks, i suspected i was having a boy. Judging from the heartbeat, you can't really tell but you 18-20 week ultrasound should give you your answer (unless like my son, he/she decides to cross their legs! :)
Good luck!

I have 2 girls and one had a heartbeat in the 140's the other in the 160's. There are many factors that contribute to heartbeat, such as if the baby is sleeping, eating, moving, and mood. I don't think heartbeat is really a way to determine the sex of a baby. Congratulations! Babies are gifts from above.

that's right in the middle. But I say boy. My girl had a heart rate in the 160s and my nephew's heart rate was in the 140s. You won't know for sure until your ultrasound though. Good luck and congrats!

No way to tell. Male hearts usually beat faster but sometimes that is not the case might also be fetal stress.
Wait until you can get the ultrasound for your lima bean.

The heart rate thing is a wives tale it does not matter it could be a boy or a girl. Good luck

Hm, no idea. But I've been told that relying on the heartbeat doesn't necessarily tell you the gender
