Should we report abuse? Regulars please respond.?

When someone asks a question about tattooing, no matter what the question is, the haters always have nasty comments, impose their religious beliefs, and/or are not at all answering the question as posted. They just see the word tattoo and feel justified in harassing the individual who posts the questions and those others that respond.

If it is an opinion about tattoos in general type question, that would be fine; but if someone asks about after care, for instance, what gives these people the right to denounce our choice to have a tattoo? This is completely discriminatory. I think I would like to start reporting these haters for abuse, what say you?

I feel like they should be flagged, and I am not afraid to say that I do flag people like that.

Kinda to expand a little bit here, I also flag people that answer serious tattoo or piercing questions with the wrong information, and it is information that could be painful, damaging, or is in some other unsafe way, wrong. I am a professional, and it took me a long time to get where I am, with alot of tears, studying, mistakes, learinng, falling down, and picking myself right back up. But for people that have no idea what they are talking about to give advice on something that they do not fully understand, and for the questioner to take what they say as the truth, that is dangerous. I know this in not really a moderated board, but come on.

Sorry, side rant. I hate Yahoo right now for deleting me a few days ago.

I would like to just because it is a form of harassment towards other individuals that are different than you and would be similar in some sense to typing comments about other types of people, races, financial status, religion, sexual orientation, etc. I am not sure though whether it would do anything to slow up the comments. I posted a question awhile back about why they are spending time in the tattoo area but from what I understand based on the answers I got. Many individuals are responding to the questions when they see them on the initial page....and do not actually enter the tattoo area to find questions. I think in terms of reporting...some answers should definately be reported if it is defaming or purposely put down to make someone feel bad. I don't think the ones that say - "you shouldn't get a tattoo - ewww" because it will not be taken seriously and it's basically an opinion being stated...immature way to state but it is an opinion....On the other hand something that tells you that if you have a tattoo, you are trashy, scummy, horrible person, etc. (we've all read these before) - then that could be considered harassment? That's going to a little bit more of an extreme in telling someone that you don't like tattoos and there is alot of verbage used that isn't necessary to make the point that you do not like tattoos.

  • LISTEN SERIOUSLY I KNOW ALL ABOUT THIS SORT OF THING ITS A TW*T

i was actually BANNED from this sight i used to be a regular i was level 3 and a regular contributer to tattooing questions

i deffinatley think you should report them because they are not answering the question and they are offending people over things they have no idea about or they have just abused us because they will never understand the true meaning of tattooes

i will provide an example of misunderstanding people with tattooes this is a question i have previously answered !!!

Source(s): before i start i want to state im covered head to to in tats full sleves the lot i love my tats so dont think im against them yes people sadly do see tattooed people in a different light they see me and imediatly think im a thug and i would sooner steal someones wallet than buy them a pint .just because im covered in tattooes . they judge me before they even know me on the inside . they couldent be more wrong im a quiet frendly guy really also when you say one person went a far as calling people with tattooes tramp stamped that is there oppinion sadly and you cant nock that as they are entitled to their oppinion although this is a shame they think that way as this is quite a shalow judgement my oppinion is people with tattooes are not i repeat are NOT tramp stamped my tattooes are there for me and me only they all have personal meanings to me and have a strong mental input on myself . thats why i have so many tattooes . NOT TO SHOW OFF!!! if people want to look at me and judge me on my tattooes before they know me then fine i dont need to know them there not worth it and are obviously shallow people what im saying is people should not judge a book by its cover or treat people different for what they belive in or what they enjoy doing what im saying is if YOU are happy with your tattoo ideas then i say good for you seriously dont let others get you down with their rash taistless assumptions wear you tattooes with pride !!! pece on earth !!! hope this makes you feel better good look

I agree with you about haters. I don't bother reporting abuse, but they get on my nerves too. I have noticed it a lot in the religion section. Someone will ask a question about God or the bible and these "haters" will answer only to say there is no God or the bible isn't true. They are entitled to their opinion but it isn't answering the question. It is just going in to try to abuse or insult someone for no reason.

I know nothing about tattoos, so I do not answer these questions as I have nothing to add and cannot help the asker.

By the way, these so called Christians who say that God is against tattoos are wrong. They have not read or do not understand the bible. They just do not like tattoos and are using God or his Word to bolster their opinion.

If we can get a moderate or balanced attitude and response from every one on reporting abuse, Yahoo can, if they do their part, improve the general body of participants.

One would hope that Yahoo will work with you to diminish haters, who 1) offend others, 2) discriminate, and 3) don't answer the question in any real sense of the word.

Please, however, remember that it take all kinds to make this world, and there will always be haters, or detractors, to use a kinder word. Make an effort to let your skin grow thicker, so the haters' little darts won't pierce through to the tender meat.

Actually, you do have a point. A lot of the tattoo-hating answers are ill-informed and just plain rude, and, more to the point, they make no attempt to answer the questions (presumably on account of having no real answer to give).

I don't see people mentioning that they dislike tattoos as a problem per se, so long as they do it in the course of giving a sensible and relevant answer. But, as you've said, typically they just wade in telling us how we're all desecrating our bodies and we'll be sorry when we have wrinkles, when what was actually asked was a question about placement, aftercare, or the tattooing process.

I reckon you've got a good argument for reporting people - especially if certain individuals are repeatedly doing this. Go for it!

i think the best way to treat these ignorant people is simply to do nothing and rise above their comments.i have no feelings whatsoever about tattoos. each to their own i say. but to be honest this place isnt to be taken too seriously just put tattoo haters out of your head and have a laugh at their expense.it could be that secretly they admire people who get tattoos because they are big jessies who wouldnt be able to cope with the idea of a needle(or whatever it is the tattoist uses!!).

Yes completely discriminatory. No you should not report it. People are a product of their enviorment. I can't remember what it is called "______ Fameil Retardation ", but their are people that are retarded basically because they have never left their home town. I know, its hard to imagine. They are uncivilized and ignorant of how the world really works. These Christians you speak of don't have a clue what Christianity really is. Christianity is love, pure and simple. I am a true Christian and nasty is against the rules. And we have no right to judge because Gods opinion is the only one that matters. This is why you should not report. These people are just retarded ( it's a medical term). Be the intellectual in the relationship, don't let your self be bullied by a retard. How ridicules does that sound?!?

Source(s): I am the voice of reason. And I'm sure the haters answers are useful on some subjects on Yahoo Answers. This web sight needs a variety of individuals for the variety of questions.

OK, let me start by saying, I really don't care for tattoos, but if that is your cup of tea then go for it. As for abuse I hate abuse, but abuse comes in many forms. Physical, emotional

spiritual and ignorance, which is someone who just don't know nothing and don't know how to treat someone else.

If I reported everyone who said something to me that hurt me or offended me I would never have time to do anything else.

So with that said, I would have to say unless the abuse was physical or severely emotionally abusive then don't worry about them, just shrug your shoulder and figure these are the ignorant ones and I would just figure let them live in their bliss. If that person was truly ignorant but wanted to know why then try to explain your feelings about it and why you enjoy it, if they cant live with that then they are truly ignorant but if they want more information then help them find it. I guess in all my ramblings I am saying, it depends on the circumstance of the abuse and how you deal with it, Me I would probably either laugh it off or try to guide them to more information.

So, no... it isn't right for people just to kick up their score two points just for pooping on your choice in expressing yourself.

But I agree with not wasting the energy on reporting them. Just ignore it or give it a thumbs down, and if enough people think it's crap, it won't show up without someone clicking "show."

As for people discriminate against others who get tattoos, well, they're just close-minded and ignorant. I had my nose pierced last year, and all of the judgmental overly-religious people at church would say things like, "Why did you purposely scar the body God gave you?" or "That makes you look trashy, and it doesn't honor the Lord."

    Whatever.

God gave us all different personalities and He is creative. People who make God sound like a stuffy archaic jerk are the ones who run off people from churches and are the hypocrites that give Christians a bad name. I love it when Christians are totally real and say "Crap" and express themselves.

Rock the tattoos, because they're wearing on the outside, what's on the inside!
