Buying LSE listed stocks in U.S. account?

Do any online discount brokerages allow direct buying of London Stock Exchange listed stocks in a U.S. account? Many outstanding companies listed in London are not listed on U.S. exchanges. If you have had experience placing trades directly with the LSE with your U.S. discount broker, what kind of fees did the broker charge for the transaction?

you probably won't be able to place the trade online, but your discount broker may be able to handle the trade for you by phone. you will probably be charged two commissions, one to the London broker (which may be embedded in the price) and one to the US broker. Many larger UK companies have ADRs listed on the US exchanges.
