For an army to be efficient it must travel light and not be weighed down with any burdens. To hoard any baggage an army would not find the road to victory easily traveled. Riches will be an added weight if you are trying to travel the road to virtue because hoarding riches is simply a selfish act.

baggage can slow down an army, prevent them from easily achieving their mission,,, the same with riches,, sometimes it makes it more difficult to achieve virtue
