why won't my laptop reboot from its power adapter?

it says it needs 130v or higher. the one i have belongs to the laptop and is 130v. its worked fine until now. the battery quit charging too. i had a spare battery i rebooted from and then i can plug in the cord and it will run from the adapter. don't know whats going on.

    it may be fine now? Put in the battery and see if it starts charging after you have it going on AC. You may have a problem on your power side just be glad it boots. Look for info on bios updates?

    Might be a bad battery then. If it works with one battery just fine and not the other...

    the battery is dead...its not able to hold the charge anymore.

    download the free battery tester program that will test the voltage and scan the battery.

    You should call the manufacturer up or go to their website. They may have a fix for it.

    time for a new adapter

    they go bad too, you know. It's not just food that goes bad.
