No, salt and snails do not mix. Adding salt to your freshwater tank can be good for "some" of your fish but is bad for snails.

It is, however, one way to cut down on the snail breeding in your tank if you don't have any fish that are sensitive to salt.

One teaspoon per five gallons of water will help your fish fight off bacteria and parasites. Just be sure that none of your fish are salt sensitive.

personally i wouldn't ever mix any kind of salt with a freshwater snail.

it can be done, but at a very low concentration, and done very slowly. if you don't see the snail come out of it's shell for a day, lower the concentration! or it might be too late. and never put pure salt into the tank, always make sure it's dissolved first.
