These are methods to secure wireless network.

WEP is the easiest to configure and less secure among the two.

WPA is more advanced than WEP and has higher encryption.

WEP and WPA are the deafult protocols for security in Wireless and other forms of security.

You can make up a WEP key easy; WPA is a little bit more advanced. The Best Security systems that generate WEP and WPA keys will use a Base reference, then they generate a 128 bit, or above, key string. 128 bit string is the minimum you should aim for.

If your router can't generate a WEP or WPA key, look for a WEP/WPA generator, and copy that in to the Area. Since it is hard for those outside of advanced Maths to easily generate a 128 bit string.

It is the encription key for your router, have a look in your router settings > security / firewall (look in the manual), alot of newer routers have the default WEP key printed on the base of the router.
