Does anyone still use umbrella strollers?

I'm thinking about offering umbrella strollers to our customers. I'm seeing alot of bigger strollers & jogging strollers being used.

I have both the bigger stroller and an umberella stroller. I used the bigger stroller before my son was able to sit up on his own but now we strictly use the umbrella stroller. It is so much easier to get in and out of the car, easier to break down, and my son enjoys it more because he can sit up and look around. Downside, no storage on the umbrella stroller, at least with the other one, I had somewhere to put his diaper bag and could use it whilst shopping. I haven't gotten rid of the bigger stroller as I'm sure it will come in handy again some day.

The umbrella strollers offer a portability factor the larger strollers and jogging strollers just don't have. Umbrella strollers are great for traveling or for keeping in the trunk of your car. They aren't always easy to find, and you would be providing a wonderful service by making them available to your customers.

  • I have mixed feelings about umbrella strollers. They are nice because they are light weight and take up a lot less room, but they have little to no storage possibilities and don't work well all the time. The wheels aren't made for going across a street always for example. If there's a crack in the road, you can almost guarantee you'll get caught on it if you don't see it to avoid it.

They are great for short term - but nothing that requires the child to be in it for long. They just don't look as comfortable as a big stroller for taking a nap in.

I still use umbrella strollers it is convenent when getting on public transportation. Instead of using the big bulky ones unless you have a newborn or a baby under 20lbs that needs to still be in the car seat that is attached to the other strollers.

in case you want to positioned a infant in it decrease than six months old, then I recommend reclining. I actually have a ordinary umbrella stroller, yet I did see one at a backyard sale that replaced right into a mixture of both varieties. It replaced into little like an umbrella stroller, yet had each of the coolest factors of a better one.

We have one, and I love it for quick jaunts or to take places where space is tight. It doesn't have great storage, so that's pretty much the major drawback to it for me.

I take it you are the owner of a kids store. I don't know what your market is, but if you are catering to the somewhat wealthier crowd at all, you might want to check out offering some models of the MacLaren umbrella strollers. That's the one I have, and I love it, because it does have some storage and a canopy. It seems like that's the one I see out most often. But they are pricey. Silver Cross is another high end brand, but I seem to see more Maclarens out here. Maybe you could offer both low-cost ones and those. Hope this helps!

I will be buying one once the baby is a little bigger.

We live in a major city. Lugging a traveler stroller up and down the stairs of the bus or onto a subway car is not fun.

I use the umbrella strollers. I pick them up from walmart for about 10.00 and the that way if something happens to it. then i am only out ten bucks. But it is really all my two year old and i need. It is so much easier to fold up and put in the trunk.
