Do you think we are fixing to have another great depression?

What with the stock market not doing good right now

    No. Absolutely not. The economic environment is radically different from 1929, and there are structural differences that were put in place specifically to prevent another depression. We're not even in a recession right now, much less a depression. GDP growth is positive, and inflation, while slightly higher than Bernanke's stated range, is still reasonable. Unemployment is within an acceptable range. There are absolutely no indicators that would support the idea that this economy is headed to a depression. Recession, possibly.

    And I'm not sure what you mean by the stock market not doing so good. The Dow and the S&P are still up around 10% since this time last year. You have a couple of bad days and people start thinking the sky is falling...

    We are not going to be in depression. People are still buying all kinds of crap. But people need to start paying off there loans and credit cards.
