Baby Shopping Cart Covers?

Have you used one before? Do you have one now? Wondering how popular these are. I have seen them advertised in baby magazines but wonder if they would sell if I offered them in our baby products home delivery service. I appreciate your feedback.

i used to be a cashier at walmart and a lot of people are starting to use these... i'm pregnant and when my child is big enough to sit up in a shopping cart i plan to buy one because it is more sanitary and some have lil toys attached to keep the child entertained.. so yes i think you would sell a lot of them..

I hear they are pretty popular... I personally don't use them. I'm a big germaphobe (especially being pregnant) and I prefer to wipe down the cart with an antibacterial wipe before I put my daughter in it. This way I know it's clean, and I don't have a cover that I have to wash after every outting. But honestly, I do know alot of people who love them, so even though I wouldn't buy one I still think offering them may be a great idea. Good luck!

I havent used one but have been contemplating it for a while now since it seems that every time i take the little one to the grocery store anymore hes coming down with something even with wiping it down. Last time it was the two week flu thats going around Idaho. My only hold up is finances at this point. Sounds like theyd sell if the price was right from what the previous post says.

  • I have seen dozens in use and upon investigating, we found that they were usually selling for a minimum of $40 and as much as $90!!! I personally just put my coat in the baskart, but we saw them everywhere. The average person is a germ-o-phobe espacially when it comes to kids. When we asked a few "coverers" about them, they showed them off like couture or a Birkin Bag! It might be a good idea as a solo sale or as an add-on sale!

I purchased one when my son first started sitting up in shopping carts. Waste of money! I never use it any more. My grocery store offers alcohol wipes to wipe down handles if you wish (it evaporates so fast, I don't worry about it). Plus, my son never did do the mouthing everything thing, and he's almost never in a shopping cart anyway, and when he is, I don't have it with me!

That said, I'd bet that it'd sell. Everyone seems to want them. They're a good idea.

    I've not used one.

But, I believe germs are generally a good thing. Kids have to have germs to fight. Otherwise, the body starts attacking the good germs. Then, you have disease like MS.

I bought fabric to make my own (generally the ones at the stores are cheap looking and yucky fabric choices - doubly so for boys). But, dh and I decided to forgo it. And, I'm having a diaper bag made from the fabric instead.

Never used one, not for seven babies. I tuck my purse in next to the baby for it to lean on if it needs to. Germs a) aren't so bad and b) can be wiped off with a baby wipe at the end of the shopping trip.

The best one is called "The Floppy Seat" and i can also be used for restaurant high chairs and they cost about $40. They are great. I strongly recommend them

I have seen them in the store and saw a lady using them. I personally haven't used them.

I never had one. With twins it was not worth it. It was easier just to wipe the seat down with a antibacterial wipe.
