Who knows about Toxic Mold Poisoning??
I have been diagnoised with toxic mold poisoning. Who out there knows what it is?? The side effects, etc.....???
By the way, I know what it is all about........ I would just like to know how many people out there know it exists & what it is about???
Symptoms include: shortness of breath, burning/watering eyes & nose, hoarse & sore throat, chronic cough, frequent headaches, chronic fatigue, difficulty concentrating, dizziness, unexplained naseau, heart palpitations, sensitivity to odors, nosebleeds, depression, & possibly death!
It also weakens the immune system.
Unfortunately, IT IS HELL!! MOST DOCTORS HAVE NO CLUE what it is!!! I was simply told that I had the flu...... yeah, some flu!!! The flu that lasted for well over 6 weeks. And improved only when I was hospitalized!!
Yes, it took the doctor FOREVER to figure it out!! Fortunately, for me; I had already moved into a different apartment complex long before the doctor had given me a diagnosis.
The doctor believes that the toxic mold was either covered up when my apartment was remodeled OR there was mold in the basement.
Simply, there was no mold in the apartment itself..... VISIBLE, anyway!!
So, it was a good thing that I made a decision to relocate!!!
I'm really asking this question for those people who may come in contact with it BUT the doctor doesn't have any answers for!!!
As far as my situation with MOLD, I became very weak & was hospitalized, placed in a rehabilitation center, & a nursing home during about a 5 month period. After which, I returned home still very weak & barely able to walk with a walker.
After 3 years of rehab, I'm finally able to get around by myself with minimal effort. Yet, the mold reeked havic on my immune system.
So, now I'm fighting a new problem: MRSA staph!! That I picked up working as a day care provider.

Toxic Mold Poisoning is due to aspiration / ingestion of spores or toxins of a certain type of fungi. It can be caused by many things: contaminated food, living in moldy areas (for example, a house made out of wood, or with extensive water damage), contact with unhealthy animals, etc.

MY daughter is allergic to mold and other things. We wipe thing s down quite often. A small amount of mold should be removed before it grows. In our town a girl lived in a trailer which had a lot of mold in it. Due to being damp. She didn't know the kids could get sick from it and they ended up in the hospital for a few weeks and the trailer had to be burnt down. Check or have someone else check your house especiall inside. under carpet, in the bathroom, kitchen, and all windows in the house If they find some and it can be removed with bleach you are safe other wise more or replace things. But, Black mold is known to be there no matter what you do. That is why it was burnt.

I never heard of this till you mentioned it. I've known of mold problems in homes as in bathrooms, and in Florida and New Orleans homes that have been caught in extensive flood disasters but I've never heard about the poisoning. I've heard of the guys from the government coming in in the white suits to clean it up but didn't know it was this dangerous. For those people wherein mold grows in their bathrooms it simply meant to me that there wasn't enough ventilation in there and if you have fans run after each shower to dry it out and remove the mold from the walls with bleach then you'd be ok. After reading the above link if you have what it says then get treatment immediately. Otherwise get a second opinion. I've always thought in past years that the only problem mold caused was an asthmatic condition.

I am highly allergic to mold and Penicillin.
You may have unnoticed mold growing under your home, or even inside in carpet or sheetrock.
Good luck to you. I hope you recover soon.
