Compulsary National Service.?

I would be for something like that or draftees in a non- combat support role....I am a little concerned about fighting along side some \one that doesn't want to be there..

Most ( not all ) draftees are the liberal cowards, that refuse to serve voluntarily, but will badmouth everything...Not the person I want watching my back.

I would never support any type of compulsary service. All you would gain is bad attitude and poor work. I was in the army from 1970 to 1973 and served along with draftees.

I do feel that we need to be sure we elect only Veterans to public office. Whatever their party, we at least know that they were willing to sacrifice themselves for the good of this nation.

Yes yes yes. I think everyone under the age of, oh lets just choose 25, should volunteer for some form of mandatory 2 or 3 years service or else go to jail.

Pay them the federal minimum wage no matter where they work or job assigned to.

Test them while in school and the dumber ones can be trained with on the job training at oh say age 14 before they are volunteered into whatever community sevice so chosen by their test scores they are capable of.

No need to waste time in schooling for those who will never amount to much anyways. those who have high test scores at 14 could begin taking classes for whatever fields the government decides we are in critical need of and as each reaches that grade level of skills and does show promice of leaning more they then can begin the volunteer portion of their duty to country.

The highest test scores should be for ones who will work for either the buisness or Government fields such as teachers and hi tech nerds and may need more schooling in the higher fields until they can be assigned for their 3 year mandatory volunteerism tours .

Once each level of intelligence is done with their periods of servitude they can begin a frutifull and economicly profitable life within those fields.

Of course this means one cannot move from one field to another as it would disrupt whole system of training.

Free medial to whatever level, to be determined by your worth to society. this sounds harsh but lets get real a ditch digger or miltiary grunt is not as worthy of money spent as say a Government employee or hi tech occupation.

No social security as each will have a certain % deducted from eachs pay, pay level to be set by real profitbility factors, and be invested in American stock markets.

This would be a good system very effecient, each performing in the interest of all and the interest of protecting this great nation from those who do not like freedom.

Well, I'm already in the military, but I used to live in Korea, where they did exactly that. All the guys spend at least 2 years in the military when they turn 18.

I think it has its good side and bad side, too. The bad side is that they get paid next to nothing and fall asleep on the job all the time because they were forced to join instead of joining cause they wanted to.

The good side is that all the social service jobs are taken care of and are never understaffed, and they come away with a good amount of worldly experience from it.

I like the concept but it moves just a little bit close to socialism for my tastes. I think the notion of a compulsary draft in times of dire need would be ok though. If more Americans were truly patriotic this would be a mute point.

Sad. I was drafted in 1971.
