Most athletes are all-round athletes and excell in multiple sports. Most schools even prefer or demand that their athletes are 2 sport or at least do a year round conditioning program. I was not a great player by any means but I did play Division 1 baseball for 4 years. In Highschool I played Football in the fall for 3 years, then ran cross country my senior year because I thought it would be easier on the body (HAHA!!) I should have played Football. In the winter I did a conditioning program. In the summer I played legion ball and also a conditioning program.
Ryne Sandberg the greatest second baseman of all time and my childhood sports idol was a standout in Basketball and was even recruited to play collegiately.

A lot of MLB players have played more than baseball in high school and even in college. Some players are good at multiple sports and have to choose one to focus on. Remember Chad Hutchinson? He was a reliever for the Cardinals and then a couple years later a QB for the Cowboys. Tom Glavine played hockey, and was good at it. Bo Jackson played both football and baseball both professionally. Bob Gibson, you know 1.12 era in 1968, was good at baseball and also basketball. He played for the Harlem Globetrotters in 1957-1958. The Cardinals made him choose between basketball and baseball. I think it's safe to say he made the right choice.
But if you have the abilities in multiple sports, why not play more than one? If one works out and gives opportunities and the one you wanted doesn't, you still have the chance to succeed in something you're good at.

Many American pro baseball players played multiple sports in high school. Kenny Lofton, Derek Lee and Barry Bonds were all basketball stars in high school.
On the other hand, I'm sure the foreign players from Asia and Latin America only concentrated in baseball.

Not all of them do. A lot of them are really good athletes and play many sports.
I know that Craig Biggio of the Houston Astros was a great football player and actually went to college on a football scholarship and walked on in baseball.
And well look at him now.

I'm not sure of any examples, but I think whatever else they may do would be for fun, and baseball is always first on their mind and schedule. I would suggest focusing on baseball only and using other sports as an extra workout could be ok.

This is not uncommon. Joe Mauer was a three sport standout in high school. He was even offered a full ride to play quarterback for the Florida State Seminoles. Lucky for me and my hometown team, he chose to stick with baseball.
