There are very few times that homosexuality is mentioned in scripture. There are many times that the decree to take care of the poor is mentioned, and sadly, it's ignored more times than it should be today. The homeless are shoved out of churches when all they are looking for is a warm spot on a cold day. I know a pastor that was well trained as a stage actor before he became a pastor. He dressed as a homeless guy and lay upon the step in front of his children. He had so much makeup that none of his members could recognize who he was. People stepped over him, and totally ignored him. Not one person stopped to help him. People inside sat waiting for the pastor to appear. They simply assumed he was running late. Someone called the police to get the "homeless guy" off the step. When the police came, they realize who he truly was. The pastor smiled and said to take a few blocks. He was teaching his church a lesson. He came back and walked into the church and no one said a word. He didn't really have to say much at all. That church was never the same after that day.

People ignore the poor and call them lazy. They tell them to get jobs when we have a minimum wage that couldn't feed a family even if someone worked overtime with that pay. People assume that people will spend money on drugs or alcohol. Without a doubt, I would stop child poverty. That should be an obvious answer for any Christian.

I really can't see why anyone cares how consenting adults carry on sexually. But child poverty creates an adverse and lifelong burden on society that is very cheaply addressable, at least in the US, with relatively inexpensive nutrition programs, healthcare and education that produce healthy, motivated and capable social contributors.

On the other hand, while Jesus was so distressed over the common practice of homosexuality in his time that the record shows he spoke about it exactly zero times, Jesus and his brother James both placed helping the poor high on their lists, James going so far as to call taking care of widows and orphans "pure and undefiled religion" and Jesus going so far as to say if you fed the hungry, visited the prisoner, cared for the sick, helped the child, it was the same as doing it for him. It's a shame really. Some Christians definitely get it, but it seems the politically organized ones don't. They practice a religion about Jesus, but not the religion of Jesus.

i'm against it i'm against all marriage, gay or directly. I evaluate it an old business enterprise that incredibly is out of date in cutting-side society. And as for gay marriage, my extremely unconventional view is: ok, so which you prefer to get married. Why? Why do you prefer to conform with what directly people do, or get to do? I mean, are not 'we' meant to be different from 'them'? attractiveness is wonderful, tolerance is wonderful, ending the violence is wonderful. exhibiting those that being gay is okay is wonderful. Mainstreaming being gay, nevertheless, isn't the respond. I mean, there is only no longer something shiny or different approximately being gay in any respect! it is going to finally end up as only one vast homogenized subculture. Whoop-dee-f**family members'-doo. i'm prepared on arising with some thank you to amplify the tax/criminal advantages that married directly couples appreciate to gays, yet permit's do it in a technique that would not in basic terms parrot the practices of the hordes of directly people obtainable. Love is love. no rely if gay or directly, i do no longer think of you prefer a chunk of paper from an out of date non secular-based social business enterprise to illustrate that.

Child Poverty is more of a concern than Gay Marriage and any idiot can see that. BUT, the two are not mutually exclusive and people can work towards stopping both AT THE SAME TIME! Amazing!

We as Christians, are the hands and feet of Jesus. Jesus told us to go into the world and teach the world about Him.

When someone accepts Jesus as their Lord and Savior and repents or turns away from their sins, then Jesus, teaches them how to live.

If someone asks me what God teaches about a certain subject, such as homosexuality then, I will tell them what He says.

As the hands and feet of Jesus, we are to feed and clothe the hungry, take care of orphans and widows, and show Christ's love to everyone.

So in answer to your question, I will help to feed the children and I will follow His word.

Jesus protested all sin by dieing on the cross for and because of our sins.

    Excellent point.

Child poverty by a mile. There should be nothing wrong with gay marriage, but even for teh people who can't see that, wouldn't you rejoice that more live long enough to walk down the aisle, no matter the sex of the person that they love at the other end?

For sure the child poverty is way way more important.

Who cares whether gays get married or not. I don't never get bothered by somebody bein gay so why not just let em do what they want to. I mean if it was involving me somehow, I would fight it, but it ain't.

I would stop child poverty and as far as gay marriage I do not think it is my place to criticize that . I respect all love that people have for each other.

    That's a no-brainer - I would definately stop child poverty.

I think a lot of people would be surprised to know and/or understand how Jesus feels about gay relationships and/or marriage.

Pierson1 - what the hell are you talking about?????

I would end child poverty. I could give two rats butts about gay marriage. If you want to get married, get married. Children don't have the luxury of being able to take care of themselves and make their own decisions.
