Is buying cannabis from dispensaries typically more or less expensive than buying it from a normal dealer?

I live in Vermont and we are not legallizing it. I support Safe Access Now and NORML. It has been made legal for medical marijuana patients and the list of diseases they will approve it for is pretty small. We have a bill (s-7) in the house now for approval to expand the list of diseases. It does look as if it will be passing and it will know include intractable pain. This will make it legal for me to grow 6 plants at a time for my own use. Two mature and four immature. I will be allowed two ounces of processed marijuana. It is still illegal on the federal level and for anyone not under the medical marijuana bill. In Vt. there will be no dispensaries we are just able to grow.
