Consider yourself lucky. You will be there at the height of foliage season, when Vermont and New Hampshire is about the lovliest place in the world (and no hotel or motel rooms are available!).

Boston weather is not New Hampshire weather but in October there is usually very little variation compared to other times in the year.

Usually there are long stretches of still warm (65 - 80F) sunny days and it is before the autumnal nor'easter rainstorms begin. Occasionally there might be a one or two day cold snap (just freezing at night, 55F during the day) but those days act on the trees' chemistries to make the colors even more brilliant.

That's definitely a beautiful time of year to be in New Hampshire! Bring sweaters and a light jacket. It can snow in October, but it's pretty rare. Even if it does get cold, it won't stay cold for very long. The high temps around then are in the 60s (F). It could get warm, too, but probably not over 80.

Boston is a perfect blend of colonial record and cutting-edge innovation. From the charming cobblestones of Beacon Hill and innovative landmarks of the Freedom Trail, to the well-known grounds of Harvard University and Fenway Park, Boston is a prize trove of Americana and with hotelbye you will have the chance to know this treasure. Boston is known it since the "holder of liberty" and Faneuil Hall is among the areas must-see just like the adjacent Faneuil Hall Marketplace, a spot that includes three long halls: Quincy Industry, North Industry, and South Market. , Faneuil Hall Marketplace is relationship from early 19th century and has become occupied by a vibrant choice of stores, restaurants, and exhibitions. In great temperature, you'll find block artists and buskers wearing reveals in the square round the market.

I basically agree with everyone. It's pretty nice out. I can still wear skirts in October but it can rain too. According to several websites, the average temperature in Boston during October is 54.8 degrees, and 11 out of 31 days are cloudy. Definitely bring umbrellas, rain coats, light jackets etc. It's not that bad during October.

It's New England...basically you never know what is going to happen, or when it is going to change...but October is still realitivly warm...then again that depends on what you are use to. Personally, I can still get away with shorts here and there, but i recommend jeans. Also, definetly a sweatshirt or light jacket for the evening. Probably a light jacket for the day occasionally.

To be completely honest, it could be like anything out. There have been some years that have been warm enough to still wear shorts, & some where we have had snow storms. New England weather is so difficult to predict. Heck, just last Wednesday it was in the 70's , but, on Friday, we had a nasty snow storm.

Its a bit chilly. On most days you won't need jackets, just good sweaters or long-sleeved shirts. The leaves on the trees will be all sorts of colors. People go there just to see it. It's really beautiful to be in the Boston area in autumn. Have fun!

It's Fall in October in New England it will be chilly but very pretty because of the foliage. You will definitely need to bring jackets. But it will be very pretty.

still reasonably warm but you could get some dull or wet days. its the time of year when people go 'leaf peeping' to see the fall folliage so its prime tourist season. Great time of year to be there

These days, you honestly cannot tell. It's supposed to be very brisk, but in the most previous years, that has not really been the case.
