Sex with student....Should adult student have right to sue University when professor takes sexual advantage?

Does an adult student have the right to sue when Professor gains knowledge of a students private life and seduces the student? Serious answers please !

Update:

Professor had access to information due to the nature of assignments given to students.

Seduction is a manipulative action . Pleas think this one out...Do not disregard the question because the student is an adult....

The adult student has the right to walk away from the situation, ask to be placed in another class and can report the Professor to the appropriate people at the University if they think the sexual advance is harassment. If none of these steps is adequately enforced then the student has the right to sue the University once the situation is reported as sexual harassment.

However, if a student knowing that the professor has checked out their private life and still engages in a sexual relationship with a professor then they do so willingly and do not have any legal leg to stand on. By entering into the sexual relationship they have given their consent to it.

No, the University is not responsible for the sexual actions of a professor any more than it is for its students. If a student rapes another student on campus, the university is not at fault for allowing that student to attend, as sexual perversion is not screened during the admission process.

The professor will be fired from the university regardless, and the professor has no access to personal records of any of their students. If by some lapse in security at the records office of said university, which allowed the professor to stalk a student via learning their home address, than yes, one could sue accordingly.

Well I think he/she may be able to sue but it all depends because even thjough it was wrong for the professor to do that but it can also be the student fault because as in many cases the student wants it and all but after its done they feel sorry. Even after all this I think he/she have a great shot in sueing because the professor seduces the student.

No... The University had nothing to do with it. the participants were the teacher and the student in the sexual advantage situation. the one that should get sued is the professor.

Once you're 18, you have to accept responsibilities for your own actions even the stupid ones. No, if the student let themselves be seduced then it's their tough luck.

Consider it just one more lesson that they learned! Nobody can "seduce" you if you're not willing. One adult taking advantage of another's vulnerability is not a crime, happens all the time and, hey, if the vulnerable person is gullible then it's their own problem.

While it is probably not best for the education process for the prof to have relations with his students, overall i would have to say, that an adult is an adult and is fully responsible for themselves.

But if the professor uses grades or recommendations as blackmail, then yes, he needs to be sued. he needs to be fired.

That would be a form of ''sue happyness'' I'd say. An 'adult', whethere a student or not, should be able to decide for themselves when to let themselves be seduced and by who.

This is a situation that requires a counselor. Good luck.
