Is it normal to vomit and have diarrhea when kids are getting their molars?

Little appetite and diarrhea or acidy poop is normal. I have not come across vomiting during any stage of teething. If your son has a fever it may be a bug...which does not mean that he isn't teething. He could have both going on at the same time. I noticed that my oldest would bite some when she was cutting a new molar.

The vomitting and diarrhea are NOT normal and I would assume he has the flu, I would check in with your doctor about that. As for the hardly eating, yes, thats normal because it probably hurts him to eat but it may be a bit more extreme in your case because he is also sick. My main concern is that he's hardly eating, yet he's still throwing up and having diarrhea. I would take him off of food all together right now and give him pedialyte...thats what I had to do with my daughter..only for 24 hours though, then slowly introduce food again. the pedialyte will help him to keep from getting dehydrated which is quite likely in your case. But honestly, given everything that you stated, I would take him in to see a doctor asap before it gets any worse...

Most doctors will tell you it's not normal. But I have to disagree. Both of my kids, when cutting teeth, would have low grade fevers, diareaha and sometimes even vomiting. Just him some pedialyte and lots of love. He will push them through in a couple of days.

Sometime the runs are common enough side effect. However vomitting isn't. There are virious going around with the vomiting and runs. Please call your doctor. He/she might just tell you to keep an eye to make sure your son doesn't dehydrate. The virious also make their appetite go down to nothing. Get some pedilyte to keep him hydrated and call your doctor.

No, your son has probably caught one of those nasty viruses going around. Although many people will tell you that the two go hand in hand it has NEVER been clinically proven.

Just keep him hydrated and give him a bit of Tylenol if his gums hurt.

Yes that is VERY normal! My daughter used to get severe rashes along with all of that too when she cut new teeth especially molars. Only be concerned if your child goes days without holding anything down, because obviously you don't want them to get dehydrated or anything.

Was he like that when he was younger??? My daughter is 14 months and everytime she teeths she has periods of vomitting! It should go away shortly, to be safe I would contact his primary doctor! Good Luck!

Yes when children cut teeth they run a slight fever and have stomach issues, however if it lasts for more than a few days go see the DR.

Yes, but it shouldn't be too severe. More than a day or two and I would take him to the Doc. and if he has a fever over 99 I would take him to the clinic.
