Fellow Christians: Is God holy because He does not sin or does God not sin because He is Holy?
This question is crucial to an accurate understanding of the character of God but so often misunderstood or not even thought about by sincere believers.

It looks like you're looking for a causal reasoning. Is one the cause of another? In essence it may be neither way. First of all God created the rules: His defining of the natural order of things. We are living under His ruling. Since it's his rule, God is not capable of sinning. On the flip side, because of his Holiness, he created these rules.
Basically, this is will be an unending debate which parallels the like of "the chicken or the egg". Ultimately, I believe HIS Holiness and inability to sin has been there from the start. Neither is the cause of the other but they are the stipulation (requirements) of the character of God. This kind of paradox should be believed through faith; as in the paradox of the Holy Trinity because neither can be fully comprehended by feeble human minds.

Fellow believer,
I hope you’re not bringing a which-comes-first-the-egg-or-the-chicken question, but in order for other readers to be enlightened, here it is. God is Holy because that is His character. His infallibility to sin is a consequence of His character as being Holy. When you pose a premise that God is holy because He does not sin, it is a little misleading in a sense that none can be called holy unless sinless, while God has even called us to be holy, of course with His grace that allows us to come as blameless regardless of our brokenness. Also, it connotes that God is capable of sinning but does not choose to do so. Remember when He said, I AM. He is sufficient on His own, meaning everything that we know about God is because of His natural attributes and nothing else.

Did you know that you are living in sin now. This are the days of hell. You have to get your life right with GOD to be able to stand on the right side of him. So, God is holy because he never committed a sin.

The definition of Holiness is nothing more than being seperate or set apart. The Bible says that God cannot lie, so you tell me, does that mean that he is incapable (immutablity?).
WIthout going into more technicalities I believe he does not sin because He is holy.

God is just Holy. He does not sin because He chooses not to sin and because he is Holy.

Gods Holiness will not allow Him to even stand sin much less be able to sin..

God does not sin because he is Holy. Did I get it right? We are not Holy, so we sin.

Being Holy means to set apart from all unrighteousness. He doesn't sin because He is all knowing and all powerful. Anything He does is for our best interest whether we believe it or not.
