Can anyone tell me why some news networks still won't report anything good out of Iraq?
I browse Yahoo, MSN, Fox, CNN, USA Today and several local sites for news.
The report of U.S. Forces destroying a bomb factory in Iraq is found in Yahoo, Fox, and USA Today but not on CNN or MSN.
It doesn't make sense. It's news. News people would like to hear. Yet it doesn't appear in the news sites.
Guess there wasn't enough death or it was too Pro-American or something...who knows.

I have been there, twice. Don't tell me what what's going on when you have no clue except what the media feeds you. When you do your tour, let me know.

Here is some info on the name...

http://blogs.usatoday.com/ondeadline/2006/11/us_mi... <== Read LT. Deans letter
Other than these two references, it's hard to tell you who the guy is because of the bias sites the info would come from.

Despite the fact that almost all returning soldiers say that we are making progress (albeit slow) and even many of the politicans who go over say the same thing that would just seem too pro-American.
Remeber when Joe Lieberman came back from a trip to Iraq last year and said that we are making progress then a few days later the leaders of the democratic party took him aside in a closed door meeting to try to stop that kind of talk.
Some of the returning soldiers say part of the reason why the news seems so bad is that the news reports center around baghdad and the green zone (where progress has been slow) and you would only hear about deaths and destruction if you stayed in there. Apparently the reporters are not leaving that area and acting like what they see is the same all over Iraq when it is clearly not the case.

Yellow Journalism has raised it's evil head once again. Why report anything god that happens in this war when it goes against their agenda. The NY Times, makes up it' own news, while the AP still won't prove who Police Chief Jamil Hussein is although over 67 times he has been quoted right after a bomb kills kids. Does anyone have proof of who Captain Jamil Hussein is and does he work for the Iraqi Police department. Research the name and get back to me.

News people are biased - they report want they think the public wants to hear as well as their own beliefs. There are many who think good news won't sell. I say hogwash but who am I? Just a consumer who normally won't read anything on Iraq or watch it for that reason and the fact that I have a son in the US Army that has served 2 tours with the 82nd and is returning for another one in late Spring.

Lots of reasons
- political agendas of the owners of the news outlets.
- "If it bleeds, it leads" mentality (or good news doesn't sell).
- Reporters that are too easily fed stories of the car bombs and crashes, that don't see any motivation to seek out any other news (they're getting their paycheck just the same - and much easier this way).

The networks are no different than they've always been. They smell a Democrat victory, so they are going to jump on the Democrat bandwagon and report only news the Democrats want us to hear. Only Fox and occasionally CNN will broadcast what is really going on.

That is why the Fox viewing audience is at the top and staying there. Americans aren't stupid and the majority do not have the NYC and San Francisco mentality.

Your getting all the good news you can get. You are just delusional. Wake up ! The situation in Iraq is not good.
Edit:
Why do a lot of soldiers say the situation is bad ? You are being less than honest. Admit it. Come on. Admit it !!
