I gave a thoughtful answer to the question below and was told it was "offensive/objectionable"?

Question: What is the best snl commercial parody ever?

Question Details: There were two that stand out for me. When the Infomercials first started back in the 1970's, Dan Ackroyd did the "Bass-o-matic" commercial. It was a fancy blender that turned a bass (fish) into a drinkable liquid. Very funny and memorable and very gross. The other was done by John Belushi, training for the Olympic Decathlon. He was plugging a breakfast food that prepared him for competition. It was a parody of the Wheaties commercials for "Little Chocolate Doughnuts".

I am getting frustrated with the Yahoo! Answers-UK as I have no idea why it was deleted. Can anyone tell me why this is objectionable? Can anyone tell me why I should continue answering questions if my time is going to be wasted. This is important to me. To illustrate that is is important to me, I am at Level 5 and this is the first question I have asked.

Sounds like a reasonable answer to me. Not sure why it was treated as offensive/objectionable.

I think the review of such complaints/violations is handled by a program, as opposed to by a person. So, not sure if there is much intelligence behind the way the violation reports are handled.

Maybe someone thought that "little chocolate donuts" was a derogatory parody to "little black babies". I don't think that Yahoo! actually takes the time to read, debate, and then act on a decision to delete or not delete a question or response. The system must be flooded with reports of abuse every few minutes, if you think about it.

I think the problem is that if just one person clicks on the 'abuse' button and fills in the form, you automatically receive a violation notice (or get your question deleted) - no real live person checks to see if you really deserve it. It's a bit annoying, but seems to go with the territory. Perhaps a bass lover objected to your contribution!

As Jon pointed out, some sad miserable troll, jealous of your Top Contributor status thought he/she could pull the plug on your illustrious standing.

I love sea bass, but it gave me a good laugh reading that!!

It was probably deleted because of a troll. They are people that will report your answers for no reason at all, with the hopes that your account will be deleted.

It's an epidemic. I was too deleted for making a post about animal cruelty.

I was told that my answer was objectionable on Christmas Eve last year.It reads as follows: Happy Christmas.

idk. its stupid and i dont understand how that was offensive. i can only apologize for the idiots that run yahoo. they dont actually look at what is violated, which is stupid. what you wrote was acceptable and - like you said- thoughtful. it doesnt make any sense to me.
